		<description><![CDATA[Interesting article. Though I suspect it is you who is presenting a false choice. The choice between oil and &quot;clean technology&quot;. Stated like this you can say well of course we should switch to clean energy sources and should do so immediately. The False choice is that there are no viable alternatives. This is not an arguable fact. There is no combination of wind/solar/hydro energy that can supplant the role of oil and gas in our society. Full stop. To suggest otherwise is false. You can argue that we should fund research and development of other energy sources, that much is obvious and is being done.

As for the women&#039;s right&#039;s issue, you are correct in saying that buying ethical oil will probably not result in a loss for the Saudi kingdom, but just like fair trade coffee at least we as individuals would be making the ethical choice. You can buy whatever oil you want, living in Vancouver; a cold climate, where you live in a house built by oil, heated by gas, presumably ride a bike made from steel refined by oil and strip mined from the earth; but I will choose to support fair trade oil.

You&#039;re only real argument is that oilsands=bad, and you&#039;ll spin any story to make it look that way.]]></description>
