Just Do It – A Tale of Modern Outlaws

This is better than Harry Potter.

Film maker Emily James has documented the emergence of a bold grassroots climate movement in the UK in her new film “Just Do It.” They are sick of waiting on politicians, lobbyists and international bodies to change the world and end climate change, so these folks are taking action themselves.

They have a simple message: ordinary people can take action and fight these corporate and governmental behemoths which profit from mining and burning fossil fuels, and so can you. It’s been a reality that we need climate action (less talk, less clictivism) for quite some time and these British activists from Rising Tide, Plane Stupid, Climate Camp and elsewhere have led the way. They super-glue themselves to bank trading floors, blockade factories and attack coal power stations en-masse, all with “manners, courage and humor.”

“Just Do It” is trying to come to the US and has an online campaign to bring the film to the US.

Check out what you can do to make it happen here.

I agree: I don’t want to watch our environment & our world go to shit any longer. I am 64 years
old, worked hard all my life to make ends meet and, aside from putting glass bottles & old cans and plastics into recycling bins, have happily gone along with the status quo of consuming our resources without giving it too much thought, feeling mostly helpless, not really knowing what to do about the way we are all destroying our beautiful world. I am angry and furious about the cynical idiots in the political parties/ Senate/ Congress who claim that climate change is not happening and who do everything in their power to demolish the few laws we have protecting the environment, about the companies who so recklessly profit from using up the precious resources
we have left, and those who do their bidding. The men and women who have the courage to put themselves in harms way in order to draw attention to the evil, they are the true heroes. We must support them, celebrate their amazing courage and join them!
