Matt, Charles, and especially Sparki for posting, THANK YOU.

I can't agree more -- coal power is not inevitable, and neither is coal mining. There are other solutions, other energy sources, and just as important - other jobs for the people in Appalachia. NO young child dreams of being a coal miner. People do it because there are no other jobs in their community. Every town, every city, every state needs to train more people to be retrofitting our homes, insulating our walls and rooftops, installing geothermal heating and cooling systems, roofing with solar tiles.

Things will only continue as they are if we let them. Nothing is inevitable - the future is entirely in our control. I am so proud to be sharing this planet with people who are taking that control in their hands and showing what the new future can look like - and reminding them of why the present doesn't look so sunshine-y in Business As Usual. Thanks again, Sparki!
