Hello!
I just graduated from college with degrees in English and Environmental Studies. As one of my writing projects, I’m working on compiling a book of interviews with young environmental activists (age 22 or below). The book will contain interviews with one youth from each state.
As an activist, I have found that the single thing that most inspires me to take action is hearing about other youth who have been successful in fighting for the issues that matter to them. I’ve also learned that, outside of the amazing networks I’ve been privileged to become connected with, there is a sad lack of knowledge throughout the general public of the amazing work youth across the nation are doing.
I want to use my specific skill set to help young environmental activists tell their stories to a mass-market audience. The book will serve as both a resource and inspiration for current and aspiring activists. In the interviews, youth will not only tell what they’ve done, but how they’ve done it. They will share resources, give ideas for actions that people can take in their own communities, and spread messages of hope and determination to every person who picks up the book.
I would like to interview youth who are taking action in their own homes and communities to work on issues like energy conservation, wildlife preservation, land conservation, water usage, pollution, environmental justice, indigenous land rights, and more. I am looking for a broad range of projects, both in scale and subject. I want to speak to youth who have taken initiative in their building, neighborhood, town or state, to lead a project that makes our world a more just and sustainable place.
If you think you, or someone you know, might be interested in being a part of this project, please let me know. You can best reach me at s_g_tuttle(AT)yahoo.com. But act fast! I’m only interviewing one person from each state.
Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
I work for Changents.com, a storytelling and social networking platform for individuals or small groups who are creating amazing social and environmental change in our world. I wanted to let you know that I just Tweeted our your request from the @changents Twitter account and I also wanted to invite you to check out our environmental section of the website http://www.changents.com/earthkeepers. We have some youth members who may be of interest to you! Some of them are over 22, but you still may be able to find some good people.
I hope it’s helpful!
Best,
Eleanor
