Supporting Arlen Specter? Not sure why you’d read it that way. Did we work very hard to get Arlen Specter, a key (if not THE KEY) swing Republican Senator to our event in Philadelphia? Yes. Are we proud of that? Yes. Are we hoping that with enough of the right blend of reason and pressure applied carefully, Specter might vote for a climate bill when the time comes? Yes.

What’s happening with our movement is we’re engaging key swing voters. If you think that isn’t strategically effective, I’m curious what you think is.

PS: Wish you could have been there – the whole point was to provide a space for constituents like yourself to engage with this guy. Everyone who was there got to have a private meeting for nearly an hour with one of Specter’s top energy and environment advisers.

Arlen Specter supports poisonous Halliburton hydraulic fracturing for natural gas (which is NOT CLEAN) in Pennsylvania. He deregulated it from the Clean Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act in 2005 with the Energy Policy Act. He is a crony for capitalist land rapists.

are you kidding, focus the nation is supporting arlen specter? he’s a conservative politician from my area who has been supporting natural gas drilling, which has been poisoning our land water and air, and isn’t actually clean burning. what’s happening with yalls movement?
