This is an outrage. ‘Pre-emptive’ arrests? ‘Conspiracy to commit trespass’? ‘Possession of bolt cutters’?

Exactly what laws were broken here? What could possible constitute a conspiracy to commit trespass? Or more worryingly, what doesn’t constitute conspiracy to commit trespass?

Reminds me of:

This is really really terrible. But,

“A police spokesman said it was thought there was a “serious threat” to the coal-fired power station, which is eight miles south-west of Nottingham.”

good.

But seriously, is the coal plant and the coal it burns not a “serious threat” to humanity and ecosystems? Arrest those in charge of keeping the plant running.

The police in the USA have been pre-emptively arresting activists at politican conventions for years. Expect them tomove on the climate movement as well.
