The Trek to Re-Energize America: Pedaling for Clean Energy

The Trek to Re-Energize America is committed to forging a new clean energy economy, helping communities with local struggles and creating millions of new green jobs.  And to top it all off, we’ll be gathering thousands of stories from people across the country as we cycle through their towns and cities to prove to our elected officials that our country is ready to show that the envirotrektoreenergizenment and the economy go hand in hand.

For those of you asking what the Trek is, click here.

The Trek has continued organizing for this summer’s ride.  We now have 13 committed organizers from Texas and California to New Hampshire and Vermont, recruiting and fundraising to make the ride a great success.  We’ll be working closely with 1Sky and Appalachian Voices to interact with local organizers on the projects they need help with and to tie others into the climate movement.  We’re now also working with the wonderful folks at Summer of Solutions, a fantastic youth led action project engaging youth in community solutiuons to the climate crisis across the country.

The Trek will be a literal movement in the style of previous mobile efforts to enact change.  If you’ve ever wanted to directly engage communities across the nation on the issue of our generation, if you appreciate the power of the bike as a vehicle of change or if you’re just looking for one hell of an adventure, join the Trek.

If you’re interested in joining our amazing organizers’ team, let us know. We just released our organizer’s manual,  a fantastic tool to help you organize locally.

We need your help, all across the country, to make the Trek a success.  Let’s pedal our way into a new,  re-energized United States!

P.S. The Holidays are the perfect time to ask for great new cycling gear to help you in your personal efforts towards sustainability and to prep you for the Trek.
