“Clean Coal,” Lies, and Videotape

The “clean coal” industry was at it again Friday at the first Presidential debate- bribing people with fans and hats at Ole Miss.

Our Power Vote truth squad had some fun with them and caught it on tape.

Great Job! I had fun at the DNC, myself, following the fan distributors around. Two blond women were handing out clean coal fans and water bottles that read “soon coal will be as clean as this water.” We should fill some of those bottles with tap from coal river area and redistribute them!

I asked one of the girls, so how do they make coal clean? Her answer? one word, “technology.” I asked, do you know where they get the coal? Umm, no? She then referred me to her boss or whatever, and needless to say, we had an interesting and infuriating conversation. He said, what we have is a difference of opinion. He asked me if the anti-coal activists would stop if they stopped using MTR coal. I said, of course not.

we got lots of work to do!
