This week in clean energy, a round up of defeats, victories and forces as we move forward.

The nations first new oil refinery in 32 years moved a lot closer to being built. A vote in Union County, South Dakota came up 58% for, 42% against the project by Hyperion to process tar sands. link

NASA’s findings were ‘mischaracterized’ by political appointees, according to the inspector general’s office. link

United will ground planes due to rising fuel costs. If prices continue to rise, we’ll be seeing fewer flights in the future. link

The Conservative mouthpiece The Business & Media Institute, predicts $12-$15 gas in the next few years. link

Not to mention that GM is closing 4 truck/SUV plants and looking to stop production the Hummer (the most fuel inefficient commercial vehicle on the road)
