Awesome Summer! Let's keep the momentum building around iCAP, it's looking like a really good piece of legislation. And Josh, thanks for posting the sample letter, let's get some more of those out to lawmakers.

Right on Josh! Good idea on writing Pelosi. I found logging onto the NWF site and sending a revised e-mail to my Congresspeople was very easy. My PA paper snatched the op-ed right up too! There is definitely room to pitch to our hometown papers.

What is interesting is that the skilled craft shortages causing cost increases for the fossil and nuclear industries (e.g., pipefitters, welders, electricians, etc.) would be the same as needed for renewables. Looks like everyone's electricity cost will go up no matter what source is built due to the labor shortage.

Right on Summer! Here is the letter I just sent to Speaker Pelosi:

Dear Speaker Pelosi,

I am writing to urge you to co-sponsor and support Rep. Markey's iCAP (Investing in Climate Action and Protection Act) bill on climate change. We need science-based, bold solutions to solve the climate crisis, not more handouts to the coal, oil, gas, and nuclear industries that have brought on this problem in the first place.

As a co-founder of Energy Action Coalition who listened to your rousing speech at Power Shift last fall about addressing global warming and supporting the target of 80% cuts by 2050, I am counting on you to support this bill and stand up for green-collar jobs, real clean energy investment, and targets that meet the scale of the problem we face.

Thank you for your past support of strong climate legislation. I look forward to your leadership in the days and weeks to come.

Sincerely,
Josh Lynch
