Our generation needs a brand new vision for our future. We need to lead the world towards a just, clean energy economy that moves beyond dirty energy, creates green jobs for all, and secures our climate.
I pledge to vote, hold our leaders accountable through my sustained involvement, and create a Power Shift!

Invest in millions of new green jobs, strengthen the American middle class and create new pathways out of poverty for millions more. By retooling our factories, revamping our schools, and rebuilding our communities, we can create a sustainable, just, and prosperous future for all.
3. INVEST IN A CLEAN ENERGY ECONOMY
Unleash American ingenuity and launch a new wave of affordable clean energy technology. We need more federal and private investments in public transit, ultra-efficient vehicles, and renewable energy like wind and solar.
4. CUT GLOBAL WARMING POLLUTION NOW
To ensure our health, prosperity, and security, scientists tell us we must rapidly drive US global warming pollution towards zero. We can and must accomplish this transition to a clean energy future in an equitable and just manner.
5. END OUR DEPENDENCE ON DIRTY ENERGY
Enact an immediate moratorium on new coal, oil, natural gas, and nuclear plant construction and infrastructure, while phasing out existing plants and fossil fuel extraction and ensuring a just transition for the workforce and communities
6. RE-ENGAGE AS A LEADER IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
Global warming requires a global solution. We must shift the focus of American foreign policy from military intervention to international cooperation and join the world in pursuing peace and international development, thereby offering assistance to vulnerable and impacted communities.
7. TAKE DIRTY MONEY OUT OF POLITICS
It’s time to make government accountable to “We the People.” Put voters first and refuse campaign contributions from dirty energy interests.

You can’t ignore it. Every headline, TV newsflash, and cover story are saturated with the upcoming elections. Amid all of this noise where is your story? Where is the true voice of our generation? We must be heard! We must build a movement to match the scale of our greatest challenge, global warming.
This is our moment. Scientists tell us that the leadership in the next couple of years will decide the future of our climate system and the fate of millions of people. The elections this Fall provide a unique window of opportunity. Never doubt that you are living in a truly historic moment and that what you do today will impact generations to come. This is it! We are called by our conscience to seize this historic moment and act. “Our generation needs a brand new vision for our future. We can no longer afford inaction. The consequences are too great and the opportunity too promising. It’s time to unleash our PowerVote
This is our chance to elevate climate and clean, just energy as a national issue, and build a truly massive movement. This is our chance to retake our democracy from the dirty energy corporate interests and return it to the public interest. This is the moment when we capture the nation’s imagination with our historic vote, direct actions, and hope for a better world. It has to be now. We must seize this historic opportunity when Americans can turn away from petty discussions of Brittany Spears and start questioning the fundamental direction of our nation. We must be a part of that conversation! In fact, we should be a part of thousands of conversations. We will engage our peers in a new and inspirational dialogue. This is our chance to grow; to double the size of our campus groups, quadruple our campus communication networks, empower dozens of new group leaders, and build new diverse coalitions of organizations.
The tide is turning. Our generation is turning out to the polls in record numbers to cast our ballots on jobs, health care, and the war. In our conversations we must voice the undeniable relationship between our energy choices and these issues to build a powerful youth voting bloc of a million strong. Elected officials will have to listen to us if they want to see another term in office. And once they are elected you can guarantee that we aren’t going anywhere. We will be there to hold them accountable and demand that the new President and Congress take bold action within the first 100 days to end the climate crisis. Anything less is an insult to our generation. We are the ones we are waiting for. Now let’s make it happen.
