Wow, McCain's targets are as bad as the Australian Rudd government's.

Unfortunately in Australia things have just taken a turn for the worse. Yesterday the government announced that almost 2% of our GDP ($20 billion) would be set aside to create a fund which is intended to massively expand our coal export ports, create more rail lines for coal trains, and build more roads. Oh yeah, and high-speed broadband.

Meanwhile, $0 extra is set aside for renewable energy in 2008/09. "Clean Coal" will be getting a $500 million boost (a free ride for the greenhouse mafia), and renewable energies will be slowly funded over the next five years.

The rest of my hope lies with the Camp for Climate Action, which will involve hundreds of people taking mass non-violent direct action to shut down the World's Biggest Coal Port in Newcastle.
