RAN LA to Citi: “Stop Funding Global Warming”

Last Friday, activists with RAN LA held a small informative demo outside of a Los Angeles area Citi bank branch. Signs were held and flyers passed out.

Citi’s representatives in San Francisco contacted RAN LA and attempted to explain how green Citi really is and head off the event. It went off with plans to have many more in the LA area.

These demos get under the skins of Citi management regardless of their size and tactics.

Citi is the largest funder of coal in the country.  They are funding it from the cradle to the grave.  From mountaintop removal to coal-fired power plants, you can’t flip over a piece of coal in this country without finding a Citi logo on the other side.   It’s time to get involved and push the banks out of the coal business.

Contact dirtymoney@ran.org if you want to get involved with RAN LA or just RAN’s coal campaign in general.
