Last night, we had an organizing conference call with activists from all over the country in preparation for the National Day of Action Against Coal Finance. Right now, over 50 cities, towns and campuses are scheduled to have a multitude of actions from coast to coast. From cough-in’s and die-in’s to bank visits by polar bears and the billionaires for coal, the twin giants of coal finance –Citibank and Bank of America– are going to be feeling the heat of the growing anti-coal movement. We’re gonna have a hella lot of people out this weekend telling Citi and Bank of America to stop funding coal and start funding the future.
With our allies at Appalachian Voices, Coal River Mountain Watch, Energy Justice Network, Mountain Justice Summer, Rising Tide, the Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) and host of other organizations, communities and grassroots groups and activists, we’ll be carrying a very loud message to the global warming profiteers.
And just so you know, IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN THE DAY OF ACTION.
You totally still plan and get involved.
We have a lot of resources to help you get something together last minute.
