There is a brand new website publishaletter.com that allows one to submit letters to the editors of virtually all the English language newspapers (and select magazines) in the US. One can also publish those letters on the site itself. Thus, the site can be an important avenue for the supporters of youth climate movement to have their voices heard and shared.

Well, Mr Freidman is right about one thing: facebook "causes" and email petitions just won't cut it!

But he's wrong if he thinks young people aren't organizing and building a movement that will stand face to face to power and demand our chance to build a sustainable, just and prosperous future! We know he's wrong, because we're committed to doing just that.

So let's pick up his gauntlet and rise to his challenge. And let’s flood the Times with letters about Powershift, Step It Up, Focus the Nation, …. and all of the other grassroots efforts that, well, are doing exactly what he calls for!

Can each of you commit to writing one letter to the editor today and send it in to the Times? We'll flood them with the voices of young climate activists and make sure the public knows that we are organizing, that there are events coming up they should take note of, and that we're here to stay!

How much of his perception is based on the fact that the largest major in US colleges is business? It was the same as when I was in school. The liberal arts and humanities majors seem to be the main students in the climate movement. Any ideas on bringing in more business, science, and engineering majors? A wider base might help bring greater attention and influence.
