Hi to All,
I live in the D.R. moved here about 2 years ago from Boston. I am not connected to the grid have Solar panels and a generator that I just started running Biodiesel in. I would like to see this country go GREEN, but not an easy thing to do, this country makes about $1.70 U.S. per gallon of fuel, so I don't believe that the Dominican Gov. is really trying to go Green ! Would You, if you were making 6 times more than someone you owns a Gas Station.
I have seen only 3 prius's in 2 years, 2 of which are at the Toyota Dealership and are not for sale they are just to look at ! Prius's have been out for 9 years !!!!! people here don't even know what they are. Does this sound like a country that is Green. 1st you need to have a President that has Balls and is willing to give up all those taxes on fuel and promote real green projects. I also wish I could do more here I would like to grow algae here but everyone here has to make a buck to get things done let's see what happens when fuel go's up to 300 or 400 a barrel then you will see the scramble for Renewable Energies !!!!!!!!

I am very excited to promote solar in th DR. I promote solar in my state of new jersey currently. last year i met with several investors and builders in the DR to educate them on the value of solar vs. coal produced electricity. i plan to broaden my contacts and produce seminars in the DR to attract investors to solar installations.
we revisited this year and found a few investors willing to commit.
we hope to gain greater exposure nationwide and support.
we here will do what ever we can to help.
anyone may contact me directly with questions and concerns. we are very interested in partnering.

Hello All

I have a electronics technical background. I am interested in installing, servicing and training on renewable energy sources such as solar, ethanol, landfill gas to electricity, plasma waste disposal and finally wind turbines. I would like to know how I could become involved in helping the Dominican Republic become more energy self sufficient.

Contact Me
Thanks

I too am Dominican and want to see our country succeed in my lifetime. My father tried his best, he's not here anymore. I have land in D.R. to kickstart my family in the ethanol business, but what about the possible damage to the soil? I need to find more information on this.
