If you would like to keep an eye on extreme events on a daily basis, as they are happening, check out my website, Global Disaster Watch. I update it daily with the latest news on floods, quakes, eruptions, hurricanes, tsunamis, abnormal tides, wildfires, heat waves, climate change and more.

Scary is putting it mildly!! and its a sad thing that money overules the room for movement on both sides of the arguement .Once again with this war that is on global warming , as with other wars it will not be seen that not enough thought has been put into it until enough lives have been lost .
While the powers that be debate and argue , blindly they cast their eyes aside from what can actually be seen happening around them .And huge floods in england dont even ring a bell , though the door knocker is trying its best to awaken some common sense within .
But it was great to see this site what i found on google. http://kaikawaka.conservation.tourism.googlepages.com/home

At least at grassroot levels people are trying their best to do their bit .

its a scary outlook. i am working in the south pacific right and things dont look promising. the needs to adapt to these events is growing at a pace that the token help from the international community is not ready to meet. an adaptation fund, ready to deploy emergency funds and to help build resilience in small communities has been under negotiation for almost a decade now, but it is still useless. Why? because most developed countries insist that the links are not clear and that canalizing funds to teh adaptation fund could be misused for other development activities. in the mean time, developing countries continue to pay debt and interest on loans to build the infrastucture they need to cope with change Though i also reconize that aid and loans have been misused in many places, particularly in africa. A very complicated issue - a 'complexity' that has become the burden of millions of people who just happened to be born in the wrong place.
