Media Misinformation, PR Pollution, and other noxious gases.

The Sierra Club and Brave New Films have launched a new video on the spread of media misinformation on Fox News. Fox Attacks: The Environment is a pretty nasty collection of the lies, damn lies, and statistics that Fox News has spread to the American public about one of the greatest threats humanity has ever faced. So lets not be fooled just because Rupert Murdoch says they are going to buy some carbon offsets.

However, this is a pattern that we have seen over and over again and something we have to take down everytime we see it. Online Communities like It’s Getting Hot in Here can serve as a platform to expose these lies. So that all of you can take a look to see how its done, check out DeSmogBlog and Media Matters’ Global Warming: Misinformation Action Center.

These are both incredible resources and we can see how to fight back. Rob Gelbspan and Kevin Grandia at DeSmogBlog expose the Global Warming nay-sayers for the frauds, liars, or corporate bribe takers they are. Media Matters challenges the bullshit of the spin doctors and pundits wherever they find it. So take a spin and find out how to fight it in a way more productive than responding to every comment by a misinformed reader.

Also be sure to sign the MoveOn.org petition urging Home Depot to pull its green ads from the most definitely “un-green” media hog that is Fox News. http://www.moveon.org for more details.
