Ron Paul is the only candidate not being spoon fed by corporations. Does anyone really think another candidate will do anything for the environment when most of their money has come from the same people who care more about reaping massive profits than protecting our planet? Like our current president, political debts will have to be paid and unfortunatley that will be at the expensive of our environment.

Ron Paul is for a smaller government. Obviously a smaller national government would not restrict trade and business. His point is take the control away from the government and give it to the people. Why give $100 to the government where $50 will go to defense spend and $.05 can be used on issues you care about. Why not give $20 to the government for things they should actually be doing and let us spend the money on what we think is right?

Change will not come from government restrictions, change comes from consumer spending. Every dollar you spend is a vote for how companies are running around the world. Demand your next home be LEED certified and guess what companies will start building it. Lower gas mileage it'll happen.

Please excuse my redundant last few paragraphs above. Like many people, I've never really
blogged much and thought I was editing myself before I hit submit . Important point, though,
Ron Paul is empowering many of us to have a voice... This is huge.

While I know it is not the intent of this forum to switch from the larger issue of global warming
and it is not my intent to encourage anyone to do so, an important question I would like to have answered that may well have a lot to do with the environment is what exactly these planes are doing
as they make their criss-crosses. I've read all the sites...I am informed as one can be and I feel
confident that Ron Paul does not believe in government secrecy...he does not think we are too
"dumb" to be told. I would rest easier if I was assured that there are not pharmaceuticals and/or
pentagon based studies being done on the American people as they pollute the air and render our soil
unhealthy for crops. (HAARP, Chemtrails, etc.) Let's not get into it here, but just know that as
President Ron Paul would address it in such a way that whenever a Representative brought the whole
issue up in Congress it would not later be striken from the record. Let the scientists speak...the
ones who are not on a federal payroll or begifted with grants to "find" what is politically correct.
Then and only then can we truly address the huge environmental and climate problems.

Many of us were amazed at Al Gore's "truth statements" about the Bush administration last night on
PBS. While his predictable emphasis was on global warming and the environment, he also acknowledged
that the greatest impact would have to come from grassroots awareness and activism and that the "informed" would most likely get the bulk of their information from educating themselves on all sides of the coin through an uncensored and free internet, not the bought and paid for media.
How many candidates are behind a free and uncensored internet? Only one that I know of.

Gore also stated that all areas of the government are broken and that everyone on the inside of the
government....republicans, democrats and independents...congressmen and senators know this, but that
you would not be hearing about this from any of the candidates running for President.
How many candidates are courageously talking about the broken government? Only one
that I know of.

Gore also said that had he been President, we most definitely would not have "our soldiers TRAPPED
in a CIVIL WAR in Iraq. How many candidates acknowledge this...advocate bringing the soldiers home? Who among the candidates has never voted for war in Iraq? Only one that I know of.

I agree that Ron Paul needs to more clearly state his position in easily digestible sound bytes regarding the environment. However we can be assured that he is against mega-oil polluters and usurpers having free reign all over the planet and using the impact on the economy to dictate
government policy. We can be assured that he is a huge proponent of alternative fuel and a plethoria of innovations that have been suppressed. Perhaps, most importantly, only Ron Paul
can inspire a cynical and defeated populace to once again care about the planet they leave for their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Only Ron Paul can reawaken an uninformed and uninvolved grassroot army of people who care about the Bill of Rights to act responsibly with regard to their neighbors. Once again, I personally believe that most of the unelected and unbought populace would behave in a different manner if they were empowered to do so. The environment can be the winner gradually as individuals...then communities...and finally industry begin to demand accountability and responsibility.

People, listen to Ron Paul. Realize that global warming and the environment have be on again, off again meaningless PR campaigns with no bite or results undere this administration. Under Ron Paul, the wealth of scientific "intelligence" would finally be used to formulate policy and decisions.
Under the Bush administration everything...including going to war...has simply "used and twisted
intelligence" to back up ill-concieved and sometimes outrageously flawed...even evil...decisions that have already been made. Vote for Ron Paul...let's stand up...so "they" will stand down.

Ron Paul as stated so well by many above would put the clamps on big oil (huge contributors to
environmental woes)...encourage alternate fuels and many other things. But, perhaps most significantly, Ron Paul has awakened a cynical and defeated populace and, if elected, reason,
education and responsibility will return as those who believe in the Bill of Rights actively
pursue clean air measures on an individual, local, community and, then finally industrial level. Only Ron Paul can ignite such group consciousness in those who again care about the planet their grandchildren inherit.

The trouble I have with Ron Paul's position on energy and climate is that he is against setting standards for industry to reduce carbon. While I am all for reducing the size of government and reducing wasteful subsidies to the fossil fuel industry, I am highly skeptical of the ability for the market to reduce greenhouse gas emissions without effective price signals and regulations. Without financial incentives to reduce carbon, the only reason for a big company to reduce waste and transition to clean energy is to avert risk in the future and "do the right thing". These reasons are simply not enough to curb emissions globally by 2015. I believe there is a lot of value to the Libertarian ideal of non-interventionism and personal freedom. However, the rights of the individual to a healthy and liberated future must come before the rights of corporations to produce capital and create waste as they please.

I don't know enough about Ron Paul to know if he considers personal freedom and corporate freedom separately. Can someone respond to this with more information?

Ron Paul, ron paul, ron paul...hey this guy's assigned the 9-11 King himself Rudy to read books on terrorism? Come on...we all know Rudy's the expert on gas...and that his $50M in speaking engagement fees probably guarantees he knows much about everything. Why don't you ask Rudy about excess gases...he's got a corner on that info...I'm sure.

Ron Paul is making lots of waves on this here internet. Hopefully those guys in Washington will regulate this a bit more so we won't have all these 'Paul Junkies' clouding up the blogosphere. As for me...Well Rudy's my man...a bit liberal, but hey man...were in a changin world here today. Don't miss Rudy takin' on Doc Paul on Tuesday, June 5th, at 7:00 PM on CNN. This is going to be the battle of the century! Get the neighbors, the kids, Grandma, and all your drinkin buddies and enjoy what's heating up to be a big big battle over all kinds of yummy things.

Ron Paul is very aware of Global Warming. He recognizes that global warming and its consequences (rising water levels, climate change that adversely affects agriculture, etc) is potentially a threat to national health, security and economic prosperity. Typical of Paul, he has stuanchly opposed government policies that contribute to global warming (such as subsidizing oil companies) and has called to lift bans on promising alternatives, namely hemp and pebble bed reactors. Unfortunately, he is distracted by the more dire issues at hand, such as the war in Iraq which is draining funds taken directly out of social security, the excessive borrowing (as much as 3 billion a day) and its ultimate result: inflation, which injures the poorest classes the most! Ron Paul's goal for US energy independence is a policy that allows the market to adjust the prices of energy sources naturally so that the alternatives become more economically viable than oil.
I am pretty liberal but I think that his policy is the most efficient. I thought that I would vote for Obama, and I am still considering it just to break the race barrier, but Dr. Ron Paul specific policies are starting to turn some heads. His energy policy is very practical and consistent with his greater view of government and its role in society.
