Youth prepare for climate and development negotiations

UN HQThe fifthteen session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD-15) will meet at UN Headquarters in New York next week and youth will take the floor to lay out the future that we envision. As this implementation cycle, CSD-15 will review progress in the area of Energy for Sustainable Development; Industrial Development; Air pollution/ Atmosphere; and Climate Change.

In preparation, Youth climate leaders from around the world will converge on the Youth Energy Blast in New York on April 29, 2007 at Columbia University with the mission of sharing their skills and preparing for the 15th Session UN Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD-15).

The purpose of the Youth Energy Blast is to empower our generation-
wide movement to confront the energy crisis. The goals of the Blast
are to provide information and training for leaders around the CSD and
provide a space for youth to share experience and knowledge
implementing climate solutions and participate in decision-making at
the international level.Visit www.SustainUS.org or www.youthcaucus.net for details

I’ll admit . . I’m starting to get butterflies just thinking about CSD-15. The stakes are high this time around but I have no doubt we will be more prepared than ever thanks to all your hard prep work. I won’t be able to make the Blast, but I’ll stay posted on what comes of it and see you all in the halls of the UN soon. Peace.
