Video: NY Auto Show Climate Action

Freedom From Oil activist teamed up with videographer Kelly Loudenberg to capture a glimpse of the NY Auto Show. Check out the scaling of the 20 foot banner, a few singing car hyping girls, interviews with auto reps, a few ultra crazy gas guzzlers and a cool up and close interview with the (Oil Enforcement Agency) Agent Chartreuse.

I swear, with all the millions of dollars spent on showcasing gas guzzlers and eco-prototypes at auto shows it would be nice to see some committments from auto companies to produce more fuel-efficient and even gas optional vehicles like the Plug-in Electric Vehicles.

Also, check out how Hybrid Cars Blog writer puts to shame Edmunds.com gas guzzling addiction. They used the 20 foot banner drop story as an indictment against Toyota, instead of an indictment against gas-guzzling - which was the real point of these activists.

All in all, the real struggles of climate change and breaking our addiction to oil is in the hands of us. So, let’s keep reframing the debate and hold these corporatations accountable to building what consumers are demanding more and more each day–more fuel-efficient vehicles that saves us money at the pump and transportation options that curbs climate change.
