On July 7th, a third of the worlds population is expected to be either glued to their TV watching or in the flesh at what Pharell Williams has called “The biggest party on Earth.”
Hosted by none other than Former Vice President Al Gore.

Early last week, Gore announced plans for the LIVE EARTH concerts, consisting of seven shows on all seven continents around the world, during one 24-hour period and featuring over 100 of the worlds hottest musical acts. Designed to trigger a global movement around the current climate crisis, the event aims to bring together over 2 billion people around the world through the live shows, TV, and radio broadcasts.
The proceeds from the concerts will form the foundation for a new, multi-year international initiative to combat the climate crisis led by The Alliance for Climate Protection and its Chair, (You guessed it!) Al Gore.
Confirmed artists include Pharrell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg, Lenny Kravitz, Bon Jovi, Paolo Nutini, Sheryl Crow, AFI, Melissa Etheridge, John Mayer, Damien Rice, Corrine Bailey Rae, Duran Duran, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol, John Legend, Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Enrique Iglesias, Fall Out Boy, Mana, Keane, Kelly Clarkson, Korn, Faith Hill w/ Tim McGraw, Ray LaMontagne, Robin Thicke, and Kenna. To name a few.
I don’t know about ya’ll, but I’m gonna be there.

“Climate Rockery” - I like it! I love love that we can finally somewhat characterize the likes of these artists as climate activists. Snoop Dog? Enrique Iglesias? Korn?? that’s really some sweet coalition building.
good post, Nazdin!

Al Gore is a big Earth activist now days. Good thing he knows what he is doing. And to get people to be involved, give them music.
