I haven’t read HEAT yet but I will look for it. I am reading If Women Counted’ by Marilyn Waring ( a lovely Kiwi) and really really enjoying it.

Harper, Howard, Bush & Blair. I know, I know, they are all in cahoots, more or less… And it’s all about our ‘lifestyles’… political (disengaged), social (disconnected), environmental (destructive), economic (gluttonous), and cultural (conform! conform!!!!!) But i have hope. We will save the planet, after the long dark night has ended.

the individual ‘assholes’ in the US are obviously easy to laugh at, because they’re ridiculous – there is so much incest going on between oil and government in the upper echelons of power over there.

Yet we are talking about a plague that is sans frontieres, and that afflicts even politicians who still have credibility!

Our ‘democracies’ are being eaten by termites as well- and these termites know no borders.

Stephen Harper is learning his tricks from his friend in Australia, John Howard.
John Howard has maintained his credibility with the Australian public for ten years- ever since i was 15.

Canada and Australia (and the UK) are the props that are keeping the crumbing edifice of the US intact, especially Australia, in relation to global warming.

just a reality check for us as well!
