While government delegates arrive in Nairobi, Kenya for the 12th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP12), youth from around the world gather to unify their voice and strength in stopping climate change. The 2nd conference of Youth is a follow up of the first youth climate summit at the climate negotiations in Montreal last year. The 2nd COY is also gathering youth organizations from different parts of Africa to organize an African youth network to combat climate change the African Youth Initiate on Climate Change (AIYCC).
The AIYCC will create a resolution following the International Youth Declaration signed in Montréal last year. The resolution will serve youth in Nairobi to approach delegates on the specific issues of this UN meeting, and stressing the needs and concerns of African youth regarding climate change. Desertification, water scarcity, and destruction of agricultural cycles are some of the issues affecting Africa already. The youth at the Conference of Youth have gathered united by their concerns and ready to take concerted action. Would the delegates at COP12 follow the example of the youth?

Hello,
I was part of the AYICC, also participated in the 2nd conference of youth in nairobi and attended COP12.I am from Uganda and hope that the youth resolution will create an impact in climate change issues as far as am concerned i believe that most deligates who attended the cop12 and heard the youth speech are going to take action and we will see change this whole crisis will go beyond Kyoto and will be us.
My last remark is to say that the youth are not Useless we are used less
